Larry Gelwix and FOCUS

The lockdown has let me read many books, especially those which were long time due, so i read this book by Greg McKeon and In his book Essentialism, The Disciplined Pursuit of Less, Greg McKeon tells the story of Larry Gelwix.

Larry Gelwix, is one of the most successful high school rugby coaches in history. In 35 years, his Highland High School Rugby Team has a record of 419 wins, 10 losses, and 20 national championships!

This is what Coach Gelwix tells to his players:

There’s a difference between losing and being beaten. Being beaten means that your competition is better. They’re faster, stronger, and more talented than you. Losing means that you lost focus! It means you didn’t concentrate on what was essential.”

It simply boils down to FOCUS, FOCUS on whats essential, whats important, that’s it and nothing else.
